En Anglais: Speaking of Hopper, he’s got a cool opportunity coming up on August 11. That’s when he’ll be doing a seat swap with F1 driver Antonio Liuzzi at Silverstone. Hopper will get to drive the Italian’s Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car, and Liuzzi will take a spin on John’s MotoGP Suzuki. “If there’s one thing to keep me away from California during my August break, that’s it,” said Hopkins, who also got the chance to drive an F1 car during an Alpinestars function at Magny-Cours a couple years ago. Hopkins swears that he won’t do a repeat of the Supercross Crossover last year, when he was one of the fastest riders but broke both his ankles when he came up short over a double. Seriously, though, Red Bull is probably a lot more concerned with Liuzzi’s ride on the GSV-R than they are with Hopkins’ drive. “It takes a little bit of experience, I would say, to ride a MotoGP bike, straight-off,” Hopkins noted. That said, Liuzzi is a big MotoGP fan (he attended the Mugello round) and has ridden some motocross. As Red Bull’s Steve Pegram put it, “All Italians know how to ride bikes!”
