The opening British Superbike championship lived up to expectation as an enthralling race saw rookie Leon Camier give the more experienced BSB riders a scare.

Local rider Camier, who originates form Kent, took an early lead but was overtaken by Airwaves Ducati’s Gregorio Lavilla on lap six at Surtees.
Lavilla extended his lead to as much as 2.133 seconds but Bike Animal Honda rider Camier held on to pull back to within a second and take his first podium in the series in his first race.


There was a strong battle throughout the race for the last podium slot with Chris Walker being clawed in by Airwaves Ducati’s Leon Haslam. But as Haslam kept his eye on Walker, he failed to spot the eager Northern Irishman, Jonathan Rea creeping up to take his fourth spot on lap 15.
Haslam then slipped back behind Stobart Vent Axia’s Shane Byrne a lap later.


Rea and Shakey then set about chasing Walker, in his first race since his return form World Superbikes.
Rea eventually took third place and after several changes in position between Byrne and Walker on the last two laps, but the Rizla Suzuki man lost out.

Gregorio Lavilla secured a winning double as he stormed to victory in race two of the British Superbike championship at Brands Hatch.


The Spaniard took an early lead in the race and now also takes an early 14-point lead in the championship.


Rizla Suzuki’s Chris Walker took an early advantage to come from the second row on the grid into second place at Paddock Hill bend.
As Airwaves Ducati’s Lavilla rode hard to create an eight second gap between himself and his rivals, the battle commenced for second place with Walker, Leon Haslam and Leon Camier going head to head all the way.
Lavilla continued to record fastest laps despite his advantage, with his fastest coming at 1:25.724 early on in the race.


His eight second gap was brought down to 0.330secs with the introduction of the safety car on lap 14. MAR’s Malcolm Ashley badly high-sided on his Kawasaki resulting in the race being extended by three laps.
There were some hairy moments for 35-year-old Walker once the caution period was over as he out-braked himself on several occasions and had to fight hard to retain his second place.


He was outpaced by the younger riders in the end as he ran wide on lap 10 and by lap 20 had slipped back to fifth.


The 42,000 strong crowd had lots to shout about in the closing stages as the popular Shane Byrne ran wide at Hawthorn and lost several places.
Lavilla was handed his champagne and trophy a lap early after Sean Emmett’s Honda blew up. This resulted in oil being dropped on the track and Emmett crashing just before the start / finish line, which brought out the red flag and the end to the race.


Rookie Leon Camier continued his success in his first outing in BSB with another podium finish on his Bike Animal Honda just behind HM Plant Honda's Jonathan Rea

Ouais champion en titre mais de tres peu par rapport a Haslam et a Lavilla donc c'est logique qu'il y est de la concurence mais de la a finir 11eme..... a mon avis y a un truc surtout que sont coequipier fini 2eme

Bon ben ca prouve encore une fois que la 999 n'est pas a la ramasse mais on peut remarquer aussi qu'apres les 4 premiers les autres sont loin!

En tout cas le bsb est bien plus dynamique que le français... ! je pense que la fédération Anglaise est plus dynamique aussi!!!

et les circuits moins naze que le Mans pour faire de la pub pour cet évènement...

Pour ce qui est du BSB, c'est vrai que c'est plus dynamique, mais quand tu parles de circuit moins nazes, va voir un peu où ils organisent des courses:fou: !! Chez nous, même en VTT, personnes ne voudrait faire de courses sur de tel circuits.

Oui c'est vrai que les circuits Anglais, enfin pour certain, çà tient du film Roller Ball ou Mad Max!!!autant pour les pilotes que pour les spectateurs d'ailleurs!! ceci dit lorsque les pilotes de BSB se retrouvent sur un beau circuit ils sont devant!!

bon ceci dit Donington est un circuit que les français devrait venir voir...les gens de l'ACO en tête....!! Donington c'est.... "un circuit moto installé dans un golf"pour donner une idée du cadre!!
