Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies won his fourth Superstock race in a row, and fifth in six tries, with a flag-to-flag romp early on a hot afternoon at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

The first attempt to start the race ended with a red flag on the first lap, but on the re-start Spies jetted from the pole position, taking Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Ben Bostrom with him.

By the third lap Spies was able to break away from Bostrom and he continued to stretch his lead. The margin of victory was 5.829 seconds.
Sweeping the points tally-pole position point, laps led point, and race win-added 38 points to his total, now at 215. Bostrom takes over second at 176. And Jordan Motorsports Suzuki’s Aaron Yates moves into third with 170.

Yates had the most eventful race. The Georgian ended the first lap out of the top ten and well down after getting caught up in a first turn melee that cost him his clutch lever. Then came the heavy lifting, with Yates lapping much faster than the company he was keeping. Sixth by the fourth lap, Yates continued to pick off riders while benefiting from the misfortune of others.

First of the unlucky was Matsushima Performance Suzuki’s Blake Young. Young had been chasing with Team M4 EMGO Suzuki's Geoff May for third when he tucked the front end and slid out in turn five on the seventh of 13 laps.

That left May alone in third, but not for long. May was hit by unspecified machine troubles on the ninth lap and slowed drastically, eventually landing in 11th place. Yates sped by May just past the start-finish line ending the ninth lap to take over third.

Robertino Pietri finished fourth on the PDVSA Suzuki, in front of Danny Eslick on the second Matsushima Performance Suzuki.

Superstock:
1. Ben Spies (Suzuki)
2. Ben Bostrom (Yamaha)
3. Aaron Yates (Suzuki)
4. Roberto Pietri (Suzuki)
5. Danny Eslick (Suzuki)
6. Scott Jensen (Suzuki)
7. Chris Ulrich (Suzuki)
8. Chad Lewin (Suzuki)
9. Martin Szwarc (Suzuki)
10. Cory Call (Suzuki)
