Rossi challenges Alonso!

MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi has challenged Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso to a head-to-head battle, in three different types of motorsport, to prove who is fastest.

Rossi's challenge came in response to Alonso's claim that "Rossi might finish fifth or even get on the podium (in F1) but I could do the same in bikes if I was given enough time to practice."
Renault driver Alonso, the winner of last weekend's season opening Bahrain Grand Prix, has also previously claimed that the Italian's high profile Ferrari tests have hurt the team's 2006 preparations.

"I'm glad that Rossi has tested with Ferrari because that means they have lost valuable time preparing the cars for the show they put on," said the 24-year-old. "Let him come and drive. It will be good because there will be more media attention."

However, Rossi has now struck back in style - telling Alonso that, if the Spaniard really thinks he can get on the podium in MotoGP, then they should race each other on both two and four wheels to prove who is the ultimate motor-sportsman.

"I read that if Alonso is able to make some practice then he can put a MotoGP bike on the podium with me," Rossi, a five times MotoGP World Champion, told Motorcycle News. "Well, I think we should drive a Formula One car, a World Rally car and a MotoGP bike, add the times together and then we will see who is the fastest."

As well as his tests for Ferrari, and his renowned two wheeled skills, Rossi has also shown impressive pace in a Subaru WRC car, a world championship spec go-kart and a Maserati sports car - all in the last four months. (difficile de faire mieux !!!!)

en tout cas c'est marrant on se croirait dans une cour de récré avec deux gamins qui jouent a qui pisse le lus loin!!!

Si Vale s'amuse à pisser debout sur ses cale pieds, je comprends pourquoi son sponsor est jaune !!! :D

en tous les cas il (alonso) aurait mieux fait de fermer sa grande gueule,
car on peut vraiment perdre la sympathie du public avec ce genre de reflexion,
comment peut il juger ??!!!meme si c'est le cas que vale ne pourrait figurer dans les cinq, pourquoi a t'il eu besoin de l'ouvrir dans la presse...apres tout c'est lui et briatore qui ont commencé, et à ce petit jeu là rossi est talentueux......alors !!!!

Tous ces défis sont un peu stériles à mon sens. On va pas tarder à se demander qui pisse le plus loin bientôt. Car si la F1 et la moto sont deux sports mécaniques, quel intérêt de savoir qui est meilleur pilote que l'autre?

On compare car Rossi souhaite aller en F1. Tant mieux pour lui. Je crois pas qu'il ait dit que c'était tous des "peintres" et qu'il allait leur apprendre comment rouler!!!
Il veut se lancer un nouveau défi et on sait que le bonhomme quand il se lance dans quelquechose, c'est à fond et pour la gagne. C'est sans doute ça qui fait peur aux deux idiots de chez Renault (qui sont d'ailleurs les seuls que ça émeut soit dit en passant car Raikkonen et consorts ont l'air de s'en taper!). C'est sur, ils se prennent pour des dieux vivants d'avoir gagné un championnat de voiture qui vont vite l'année où la Ferrari est ratée et où les McLaren sont pas fiables!!! Quelle gloire.

L'arrivée et la réussite possible (j'ai pas dit probable) de Rossi dérange car elle pourrait non pas prouver la valeur du champion italien mais plutôt discréditer tout le petit monde de la F1 qui croit faire partie du sport mécanique le meilleur et le plus ultime!!!

C'est vrai que c'est absurde cette espèce de moto-chauvinisme complètement décalé...
On peut ne pas aimer la f1, force est de constater que Alonso a quand même du talent...
De plus, il est vrai qu'il a dit parfois de belles conneries, mais il n'a rien à envier à certains (ex-)pilotes de moto gp...

Enfin ceci dit, la f1 je m'en tape royalement, et des défi Rossi-Alonso tout autant, moi je n'attends que le we du 26 we mars :)

c'est pas forcement si stérile que ca!

Ca fait 2 ans de suite qu'on a au stade de france le truc des champions ou les meilleurs pilotes 4 roues s'affrontent sur une piste avec différentes voitures : rallyes, superkart etc etc!!

y'aurait juste a rajouter la moto et pis voila!!!

Rossi wants F1, insists Ferrari.

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn says that he would like to have Valentino Rossi on the team next year, but a lot of factors would have to fall into place to make it happen.

In essence, the team is waiting to see if the MotoGP star really wants to switch sports after his extensive test programme with the team during the winter.

"It's very exciting," Brawn admitted, "He's a huge personality, and he did a very good job, so it will be a very exciting thing to have. But you've got to make sure it will work from both sides, and the excitement will fade very quickly if it's not successful. So it's very important that we want to do it, Valentino wants to do it, all the people want to do it, so it has a chance of success.

"I think, at some point during the year, Valentino has got to decide what he wants to do, and Ferrari has got to decide what they want to do."

As we revealed last week, Brawn says that Rossi's programme won't necessarily be compromised by Ferrari joining the testing agreement.

"I don't think it will be a factor that will make or break the decision," he confirmed in Sepang, "I don't think we need any more technical information. I think there's a whole human side which we need to discuss, so I don't think there's a way of making a decision now. But there's lots of other aspects to be considered.

"Do we need to be testing Valentino during this season? I think the answer is no, because I think there's enough technical information and he's done a very good job. As I said, there's a human element, and a political and commercial element, to take into account. That's what will have to be considered."

Brawn was also critical of Fernando Alonso's recent suggestion that Rossi will never be one of the sport's top drivers - a criticism that provoked the Italian into challenging his Spanish rival to a three-way shoot-out to prove who was best.

"I don't know how he judges it, because I can't judge it," Brawn said of the Renault driver, "He might be right, but I don't know how he judges it. Having seen his performance with so little experience, there's nothing that tells you that he cannot do that. There's nothing that tells you that he can, but there's nothing that tells you he cannot. So I don't think you can make that statement."

Alonso, meanwhile, turned down Rossi's challenge, claiming that he wanted to remain focused on his F1 title defence.

Ce qu'on oublie c'est que rossi est allez ou essayé d'aller au devant de la F1 en toute modestie, il n'a jamais dit qu'il claquerait des temps et n'a jamais dit du mal sur les pilotes de f1,
les media ont grandi l'affaire au sujet de ses possibilité de rejoindre les rangs de ferrari avant que lui meme saches vraiment , et le sait il encore,
et concernant alonso, c'est quand meme ce dernier qui a commencé par voie interposé a le mettre plus ou moins en defi, en lui envoyant des petites critique avec briatore, et je pense qu'a un moment donné rossi en a eu marre et a mis en route la machine. il faut etre sincere, rossi n'avait jamais dit quoique ce soit avant.......
alors je trouves facile de faire "genre"...je me concentre sur mon championnat de f1...en gros les gamineries de rossi ce n'est pas pour moi....mais qui a commencé a jouer dans la cour d'ecole.
en tout ca il n'a rien gagné a ce jeu là, alonso, meme si il essaie d'en sortir dignement....ils ont si peur que ça, c'est si deshonorant qu'un pilote moto touche une F1.....meme si c'est un septuple champion du monde.....
je comprends pas leurs reactions (alonso et briatore)
oui qu'ils fassent leurs championnat et qu'ils laissent tranquille rossi sur sa moto et au volant de sa ferrari quand ça lui plait.....que ça ne leurs plaisent ou non.......de toute façon briatore il a une tete à claque...
