Randy de Puniet fera parti du Kawasaki Racing Team, après avoir finalisé les termes du contrat ce week-end Il pourra piloter une toute nouvelle 990cc Ninja ZX-RR, qui est actuellement en développement chez les ingénieurs Kawa au Japon.

Le pilote de 24 ans est l'une des stars issues de la 250cc. Même si cette dernière saison fut difficile, le pilote a déjà prouvé à plusieurs reprises qu'il était capable de beaucoup de choses. Randy fera ses premiers débuts sur Kawasaki lors des essais hivernaux qui débuteront en Novembre après le GP de Valence.

Le pilote Français à rejoint le championnat du monde 250cc au GP du Japon en 2001, et a effectué depuis cette date 9 pôles positions, 22 podiums et 5 victoires.
Rappelons que sa première course fut en 125cc, en 1998 au Mans, avec un Wild Card.
