The opening day of MotoGP testing at Catalunya on Monday has seen Ilmor's Andrew Pitt return to the paddock as a Michelin test rider, on a Yamaha M1, while fellow Australian Anthony West swapped his usual 250cc Aprilia for a Kawasaki ZX-RR.
With Kawasaki regular Olivier Jacque missing Sunday's Catalan Grand Prix through injury, and team-mate Randy de Puniet also hurt, West - who won the recent Silverstone round of the World Supersport championship as a replacement rider - has been drafted in to help with testing duties.
