We will never get a chance to see the pairing of McCoy and FB Corse race in MotoGP together. The announcement came directly from the Australian, and effectively ends the MotoGP hopes of team directed by Andrea Ferrari.

"After spending the last 4 months training at top level, today I am at my best mentally and physically to race. My goal is to come back to the World Championship. I thought that FB Corse was ready to do the step, but they haven't accomplished the needs till now required."

Another inkling that FB Corse was in trouble, came at Mugello when Simone Grotzky Giorgi arrived to ride for the Italo Fontana Team, in place of Ricardo Moretti.


The Italian rider was presented at an official even in January, with lots of pomp and circumstance, as the rider of the Bimota Moto2 bike. But, as we know, Bimota ended up letting the Honda Sag team handle their Moto2 effort.


The lack of communication from the team, following McCoy's statement and the appearance of Grotzky Giorgi in the 125 race (with a contract for the rest of the season), seems to cast serious doubt on the possibility of seeing another Italian bike in MotoGP.
